Apple Up in the $500 Billion Club

Over at the United States stock exchange yesterday, Apple closed with a share price of $542.44. That was a 1.31% rise since the day before and that meant the Apple joined the highly exclusive club of companies valued over $500 Billion!

There are now only six companies with this achievement and up there with them has been:

  • Cisco Systems - 2000
  • Exxon Mobil - 2009
  • General Electric - 2000
  • Intel and - 2000
  • Microsoft - 1999

This is a huge achievement for Apple and its stock and it really does show that it is one of the biggest, most recognisable companies in the world today. The other five companies didn't last long over that golden figure so it will be interesting to see if Apple can keep there growth going and be heading towards the $600 Billion dollar mark. With the iPad 3 set to be announced I am confident that they will grow and stay well above the half a trillion dollar mark, and could potentially soar past those other five companies to become the biggest business in the world.

What do you think? Does Apple have what it takes?
