Nokia 808 PureView

Mobile World Congress has brought us quite a few great things so far, but the Nokia 808 PureView is definitely one of the more notable camera phones to be announced. You see, Nokias new phone features a 41 Megapixel Camera, with Nokias most advanced Carl Zeiss optics. This camera is packed full of new technology that is capable of taking photos up to 38 megapixels, but to save the space on your phone it also takes 5 megapixel and 8 megapixel stills. It will be able to take stunning video alongside the photos, with 1080p, 30fps video recording.

The 808 PureView is built with brand new camera technology that uses a process called oversampling to combine up to seven pixels into one to make whats called a "pure" pixel. This process significantly reduces noise and it also means you can zoom in 3x digitally without losing any quality from your image. This oversampling technology means the camera can handle much better in low light and features a much faster shutter which means less camera shake for less blurriness.

Unfortunately like most things in life there is always a catch. The Nokia 808 PureView, no matter how amazing it is as a camera will never be as amazing as a phone. Its running Nokias Symbian so you will be stuck with the OVI store for your limited choices of apps. The operating system is far form impressive but the specs on this thing are quite snappy. With a 1.3GHz processer and a 4" ClearBlack AMOLED display protected with Gorilla Glass. It has 16GB built in memory with additional micro SD card support. This device is expected to be released in May and will be available in an array of colours

So it's up to you? Will the good specs and amazing camera be enough to outweigh the fact that it will be running Symbian? In my opinion I dont think it can. Without a good app store my phone is really incomplete.
