iPad 3: Should I Upgrade?

Following the well anticipated iPad 3 there's the major consumer hype. And as a consumer I thought to myself is this worth the upgrade?

The iPad 3 features a new retina display of 264ppi (pixels per inch), 4G LTE, voice dictation, Quad core graphics and a dual core CPU with the Apple A5X chip and a 5 megapixel in full 1080p. I am a vivid iPad 2 user and have always been a fan of the iPad. However, these 5 features to me just don't seem like a major, must have upgrade. Don't get me wrong I love the new iPad but the small amount of upgrade just doesn't work for me. If you're an iPad 2 user who has a Wi-Fi only and isn't a full hardcore IOS gamer i suggest you hold out for the iPad 4. Wi-Fi + 3G users though have to also consider their data speeds. Are you sick of slow 3G speeds or can you do with yours? Unless 4G is a must have and you're a "I hate slow speeds!' kinda person and you have the money to upgrade by all means please do so.

The original iPad users however I say this is a great upgrade for you if you use your iPad a fair bit. It's a lot thinner than the original and lighter. The teardrop design is also better in my opinion. The gaming, graphics and CPU is much better also. Cameras for Facetime & Photobooth are also a nice touch. The display will look gorgeous! Double the pixels per inch! One thing most reviewers forget to review is software updates. If you're an iPad 2 user you don't have to worry about it, however this year the original iPad might lose update support. Just something to keep in mind

For those without an iPad and who are looking for a tablet, I would recommend this and The Asus Transformer Pad Infinity if you prefer Android. So have you pre-ordered your new iPad or are you waiting for the next batch or generation of iPads?

iPad 3

Apple today has introduced iPhoto for the iPad! You now get multi-touch editing, new effects and brushing. On top of editing. The multimedia on this device will be lovely. Also not mentioned previously when you can't access 4G, 3G is available and you switch. Multi-photo comparisons. Compare up to 19 images. More sharing options. No RAR file compatibility. Still nothing on the smart cover. It will probably be retained. No updates on the Apple website yet. It publishes your photos to iCloud which you can download to your Mac. $4.99 US today. Quad core GPU, Dual Core CPU. Are you going to keep your iPad 2 or make the upgrade to the new iPad. The iPad 2 will live on at $100 cheaper. They haven't called it anything apart from the New iPad. Tim Cook is now wrapping it up now.

iPad 3

We're now seeing some apps. This just looks amazing guys. As usual they haven't revealed the RAM, as usual. Apparently there will be an upgrade. There is no new design apart from the thickness. Does that annoy you? No matter how this looks to you. This will sell because, it's Apple. They're the only ones selling tablets. Now we have Phil talking about Infinity Blade Dungeon! Optimised for the iPad 3. The games just look gorgeous. More memory and processing power than an Xbox 360(to be fair it came out 5 years ago). No news on the smart cover. Keynote, pages, numbers, iMovie and garageband are getting updates. Some Mac features are now being brought to the iPad. Now that you can shoot 1080p directly from the device, iMovie will be even better. Still nothing on iPhoto. I'm happy about this upgrade, are you?

iPad 3!

Just in. iPad 3 has voice dictation. Hasn't mentioned Siri yet. On the keyboard its the same 4S. 4G LTE! It's here guys! The first Apple product with 4G. Dual Carriers. 72 megabits per second. That's faster than some people's home internet.(Including mine). Verizon & AT&T. They're saying 4G is faster than 3G even though pretty much everyone knows that. So far this iPad is just awesome. Built in Personal hotspot. There is a home button which I can see in the demo. The battery? It's being talked about now. Still 10hours of battery life or 9 hours on 4G! 9.4mm thin(thicker than the iPad 2) Same pricicing. Pre-orders start today. US, Japan and France on the same day.

iPad 3

Just in!The iPad 3 has a retina display(confirmed) It looks thinner(but it might not be). The iPad has not been matched with the retina display technology. 2048 by 1536 pixels! Very exciting. 3.1 Million pixels folks. 1 million pixels in an HDTV. So when you stream your new iPad on your 1080p Apple TV it may not look as nice. A5X processor. What's the X for? Quad Core graphics! Apple says their processor is 2x faster than the Tegra 3 processor. New camera's have been announced. 5 Megapixels(same as an iPhone 4) on the back. 5 element lens. Hybrid IR. Auto-focus. HD video recording now in 1080p resolution. iMovie will now probably grab some more users. More to come soon!

New Apple Tv!

Just in! Apple is currently announcing the iPad 3 or HD, however an Apple TV was announced with 1080p, a new way to look at content.(It's like cover flow on an iPod). It is still the same box. One source has just said that the Apple TV still doesn't have app support. No other details have been announced yet. Right now Mr. Tim Cook is showing some statistics of the iPad.

Lenovo Looks to Build Brand

The Chinese PC maker is already a top brand from its home country and is now looking to become a major household name in international markets as its focusing on becoming the largest PC vendor in the World! Lenovo is a company that develops, manufactures and markets desktop, notebook and net book computers, tablet PC’s, workstations, servers, storage drives, IT management software and other products and devices related to the ever growing world of tech.

In China, Lenovo claims the crown of a top Computer brand with a 35.3% market share. Now the Chinese PC maker wants to continue its success into the US market where Lenovo’s sales are far behind top competitors.

In 2011, Lenovo launched its first global marketing campaign targeting consumers in North America, Japan, Germany, Russia and the U.K. In the US from March 2011 to January 2012, the campaign’s results helped increase by 204% in purchase consideration for Lenovo computers. This brand awareness has probably been a major help to Lenovo in international markets.

Lenovo is currently the 6th largest computer vendor in the US with a market share of 7.3%, according to IDC. Lenovo has had to battle much bigger co-operations like HP. Also the incline in Tablet sales has also taken a toll on Lenovo’s PC sales in the past 2 years. An analyst from a research firm called Canalys has said that “For every 10 PCs sold, three to four of them will be iPads.” Weak economic conditions have also dampended sales.

Lenovo made special netbooks for Students in Australia as a part of teh 1 computer per child. In my experience the build of the PC was of a great build especially noting the great design.

Lenovo is doing very well for itself in the international markets with all its different products. And I wish them luck in their journey
